Prop 126: [Proposal] CONX Mainnet v1_13 Software Upgrade

Proposal Summary

This proposal recommends upgrading the CONX Mainnet to v1.13.0-rc0 to apply a security patch and further strengthen the security and stability of the network.

Due to the security-sensitive nature of this upgrade, this proposal will be submitted as an emergency proposal with a three-day voting period.

Proposal Details

To protect the network during the coordinated upgrade process, the patched binary and related technical details will be handled privately until the relevant security patch is publicly disclosed.

The v1.13.0-rc0 binary will be distributed privately to CONX node operators, including validators and RPC node operators, through a designated secure channel prior to the upgrade.

Detailed information regarding the security patch and the relevant code changes will be shared once the corresponding security patch has been publicly disclosed by the upstream project.

Expected Impact

The network is expected to pause temporarily at the designated upgrade height while validators upgrade to v1.13.0-rc0 and restart their nodes.

Block production will resume once validators representing sufficient voting power have successfully completed the upgrade.

RPC and other node operators are also expected to upgrade their nodes to v1.13.0-rc0 to maintain compatibility with the upgraded network.

This upgrade does not propose any changes to token balances, staking positions, governance voting power, or economic parameters.
