Prop 3:
Proposal for the Transfer of Developer Grant Allocation
Simple Summary This proposal enacts the developer grant allocation logic defined in HIP-2 by authorizing the initial movement of newly generated inflationary HP coins (5% of total inflation) to a designated wallet (hippo15rfg4pydf83zydqkn8g3x7fqahtmhwwqr42rc0). ## Abstract This proposal authorizes the transfer of newly minted HP coins, up to block 632012, into a dedicated wallet (hippo15rfg4pydf83zydqkn8g3x7fqahtmhwwqr42rc0) designated for development grants. As defined in [HIP-2: Mainnet Node & Validator Proposal], 5% of all newly minted HP coins from inflation are reserved as grants for development teams contributing to the Hippo Protocol mainnet’s technical infrastructure. The coins will be moved to Wallet C on July 1, 2025. ## Motivation Establishing a transparent and trackable pool of development funds supports the growth and sustainability of Hippo Protocol’s core infrastructure. This transfer enables future community-led grant proposals while separating developer funds from other allocations. ## Documentation - None. ## Specification - Reward Source: 5% of HP inflation from mainnet launch up to block 632012 - Date: July 1, 2025 - Allocation Purpose: Developer grants for contributors to Hippo Protocol infrastructure - Allocation Amount: 1,630,435 HP - Allocation Wallet: hippo15rfg4pydf83zydqkn8g3x7fqahtmhwwqr42rc0 ## Rationale This proposal: - Aligns with HIP-2’s long-term sustainability plan - Establishes a dedicated fund to reward ecosystem technical contributors - Enables future community-led grant processes backed by on-chain treasury ## Drawbacks - None. ## Unresolved Questions - None. ## Security Considerations - None. ## Prior Art - None. ## Backwards Compatibility - None. ## Test Cases - None. ## Reference Implementation - None. ## Security Considerations - None. ## Future Possibilities - NA
