This proposal seeks to disable the validator bond factor in the Persistence Chain's Liquid Staking Module (LSM). The change aims to restore the simplicity and usability of staking operations that were impacted by the activation of LSM. The Cosmos Hub has already taken similar action, providing a strong precedent.
Context & Motivation: Prior to the integration of the LSM module, validators were only required to bond a nominal amount of 1 XPRT, a negligible threshold that did not impede staking operations. However, with the introduction of the LSM, this requirement has become a more active constraint due to the enforcement of the validator bond factor.
As a result, users are increasingly facing issues with staking-related activities such as re-delegation, undelegation, and liquid staking. These friction points degrade the staking experience and can discourage user participation and validator engagement.
