This proposal aims to reduce the maximum validator set from the current 93 to 80. It follows Proposal 86, which previously lowered the maximum number of validators from 125 to 93. The primary objective of this proposal is to enhance the overall quality of the validator set, particularly in light of intermittent responses to recent security upgrades. Prioritizing network security and the reliability of validator contributions is essential to maintain a robust and efficient blockchain. A smaller validator set can and will improve consensus efficiency by streamlining coordination among validators, reduce communication overhead, thereby enhancing performance and reliability and strengthen economic security by concentrating stake among fewer, more committed validators who demonstrate consistent and timely responses to upgrades. If this proposal is rejected (NO vote), the maximum validator set will remain at 93. If this proposal is accepted (YES vote), the reduction to 80 validators will take effect, ensuring continued improvement in both the security and quality of our network.
