Prop 350: Proposal to end the Juno Charter and return Juno tokens to community pool

Proposal Overview

This proposal seeks to formally end the Juno Charter, returning all Juno tokens controlled by current members back to the community pool, with the exception of Juno in the delegations program multisig.

Proposal Details

Background

The Juno Charter was established to guide the development and governance of the Juno network. However, as the trial period is coming to an end, it has become evident that the current Juno Charter structure failed to increase the network's activity and social status. It is my opinion that we have created an environment that lessens our ability to make swift responses to future opportunities and emerging challenges.

Objectives

  1. Terminate the Juno Charter: Formally dissolve the Juno Charter and its associated governance structures.
  2. Return Juno Tokens: Ensure all Juno tokens controlled by current members be returned to the community pool, excluding those that are within the delegations program multisig.

Actions

  1. Termination of the Juno Charter

Announce the dissolution of the Juno Charter to the community. Cease all activities and initiatives under the Juno Charter framework.

  2. Redistribution of Juno Tokens

Identify all Juno tokens controlled by current members. Execute transactions to return these tokens to the community pool, minus those in the delegations program multisig.

  3. Exclusion of Delegations Program Multisig

Maintain the Juno tokens within the delegations program multisig to ensure the continuity of delegation initiatives.

Expected Outcomes

With the end of the Juno Charter, the network can adopt a more flexible and adaptive governance structure that better aligns with the community's evolving needs. Any and all current agreements made by a charter department can be put to vote and either extended, executed or terminated by the community governance model.

This proposal is a formal vote which requests that the Juno Council and its members go through the necessary steps to dissolve itself entirely, if the proposal passes and is in accordance with Proposal 319 which stipulated the limited trial period requested within that proposal.

We invite all community members to review this proposal, provide feedback, and participate in the decision-making process to ensure the continued growth and success of the Juno network.

I appreciate your participation and thoughtful consideration of this proposal
