Prop 3: Sunset the $SRCX Token and Merge into $SOURCE

The SRCX Token was deployed by the Source Protocol Team in June 2022 on the Binance Smart Chain to be the main defi token of the original Source Marketplace on BNB. As Source Protocol expanded and the needs of the company, partners, affiliates, and user base grew, the Source Layer 1 Blockchain was built and deployed in the Cosmos Ecosystem. /n Now, roughly six months after the mainnet deployment of SOURCE, we find ourselves with two tokens, $SOURCE, the native token of the Source Blockchain and $SRCX, the smart contract defi token originally deployed on BNB and now bridged to Source and the greater Cosmos. /n It has become increasingly aware to the team that these two tokens are causing quite a bit of confusion within the community base and even more so when onboarding new users to the ecosystem. The $SOURCE token stands to offer far more utility and use case than $SRCX while creating an easier and more streamlined experience for SOURCE users. /n Therefore, This proposal signals a merge of the $SRCX token into the $SOURCE token and a sunset/burn of the original $SRCX token and contract. If the proposal passes with a “Yes” the holders of $SRCX will have an opportunity to swap their $SRCX tokens to $SOURCE at roughly a 1:1 in current USD value. This has been calculated at a 4:1 $SRCX to $SOURCE ratio. The $SOURCE used in this conversion will come from the teams Strategic Reserve at no cost to the community. In addition, all SRCX claimed in this conversion process and all SRCX held by Source Protocol will be burned, effectively removing the tokens from circulating supply. /n In summary, a “YES” vote indicates the support of merging $SRCX to $SOURCE and having a one token ecosystem while a “NO” vote indicates support of continuing the two token Source ecosystem.
