Neutron v8.0.0 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 33397000. It is estimated to take place 2 months ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd neutron
git pull
git checkout v8.0.0
make install

Check Version

# should be 8.0.0
neutrond version

# Should be commit 5593e5de177a45ccb237188f69580f7d160b5961
neutrond version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.neutrond/cosmovisor/upgrades/v8.0.0/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/neutrond $HOME/.neutrond/cosmovisor/upgrades/v8.0.0/bin

Check Version Again

# should be 8.0.0
$HOME/.neutrond/cosmovisor/upgrades/v8.0.0/bin/neutrond version
