Coreum v5.0.0 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 39810000. It is estimated to take place 6 months ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd coreum
git pull
git checkout v5.0.0
make install

Check Version

# should be v5.0.0
cored version

# Should be commit 219788281a9aa7fdc500eff95c0f69505fe2ea91
cored version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.core/coreum-mainnet-1/cosmovisor/upgrades/v5/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/cored $HOME/.core/coreum-mainnet-1/cosmovisor/upgrades/v5/bin

Check Version Again

# should be v5.0.0
$HOME/.core/coreum-mainnet-1/cosmovisor/upgrades/v5/bin/cored version
