Xion Network v18.0.0 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 7020000. It is estimated to take place 6 months ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd xion
git pull
git checkout v18.0.0
make install

Check Version

# should be 18.0.0
xiond version

# Should be commit edb201fab1c7a63ccd34b2ca285d3cd6a4f53a1b
xiond version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.xiond/cosmovisor/upgrades/v18/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/xiond $HOME/.xiond/cosmovisor/upgrades/v18/bin

Check Version Again

# should be 18.0.0
$HOME/.xiond/cosmovisor/upgrades/v18/bin/xiond version
