Xion Network v16 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 5825000. It is estimated to take place 8 months ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd xion
git pull
git checkout v16
make install

Check Version

# should be v16
xiond version

# Should be commit v16
xiond version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.xiond/cosmovisor/upgrades/v16/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/xiond $HOME/.xiond/cosmovisor/upgrades/v16/bin

Check Version Again

# should be v16
$HOME/.xiond/cosmovisor/upgrades/v16/bin/xiond version
