dYdX v8.0.1 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 35602000. It is estimated to take place 9 months ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd dydx
git pull
git checkout v8.0.1
make install

Check Version

# should be 8.0.1
dydxprotocold version

# Should be commit d15314406f70c09be52c8f5f76ed5b3ec753618a
dydxprotocold version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.dydxprotocol/cosmovisor/upgrades/v8.0/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/dydxprotocold $HOME/.dydxprotocol/cosmovisor/upgrades/v8.0/bin

Check Version Again

# should be 8.0.1
$HOME/.dydxprotocol/cosmovisor/upgrades/v8.0/bin/dydxprotocold version
