CosmosHub v20.0.0 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 22443500. It is estimated to take place 1 year ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd cosmos
git pull
git checkout v20.0.0
make install

Check Version

# should be v20.0.0
gaiad version

# Should be commit 2dba9d471ef73b0a99e844bf55a44ddae700ea06
gaiad version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v20/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/gaiad $HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v20/bin

Check Version Again

# should be v20.0.0
$HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v20/bin/gaiad version
