Xion Network v9.0.0 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 1960000. It is estimated to take place 1 year ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd xion
git pull
git checkout v9.0.0
make install

Check Version

# should be 9.0.0
xiond version

# Should be commit 2b98f65d82c325644080b9dfa4b5b6054120283f
xiond version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.xiond/cosmovisor/upgrades/v9/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/xiond $HOME/.xiond/cosmovisor/upgrades/v9/bin

Check Version Again

# should be 9.0.0
$HOME/.xiond/cosmovisor/upgrades/v9/bin/xiond version
