CosmosHub v18.1.0 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 21330500. It is estimated to take place 1 year ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd cosmos
git pull
git checkout v18.1.0
make install

Check Version

# should be v18.1.0
gaiad version

# Should be commit 58b4e54a95c7fc6a64272ccd0f09f46213c005ad
gaiad version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v18/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/gaiad $HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v18/bin

Check Version Again

# should be v18.1.0
$HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v18/bin/gaiad version
