CosmosHub v17.1.0 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 20739800. It is estimated to take place 1 year ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd cosmos
git pull
git checkout v17.1.0
make install

Check Version

# should be v17.1.0
gaiad version

# Should be commit 9e6ed81f118fc3e5c5f870f05810d9220db5559f
gaiad version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v17/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/gaiad $HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v17/bin

Check Version Again

# should be v17.1.0
$HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v17/bin/gaiad version
