CosmosHub v16.0.0 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 20440500. It is estimated to take place 1 year ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd cosmos
git pull
git checkout v16.0.0
make install

Check Version

# should be v16.0.0
gaiad version

# Should be commit ebebaac5bf9f19ca68eaa70f6e61287c0e57fb8c
gaiad version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v16/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/gaiad $HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v16/bin

Check Version Again

# should be v16.0.0
$HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v16/bin/gaiad version
