Empower v2.0.0 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 2697000. It is estimated to take place 11 months ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd empower
git pull
git checkout v2.0.0
make install

Check Version

# should be 2.0.0
empowerd version

# Should be commit 70ad47fc878d1854fe279ebf99e3a9260b78099c
empowerd version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.empowerchain/cosmovisor/upgrades/v2/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/empowerd $HOME/.empowerchain/cosmovisor/upgrades/v2/bin

Check Version Again

# should be 2.0.0
$HOME/.empowerchain/cosmovisor/upgrades/v2/bin/empowerd version
