Canto v7.0.0 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 6055770. It is estimated to take place 2 years ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd canto
git pull
git checkout v7.0.0
make install

Check Version

# should be 7.0.0
cantod version

# Should be commit da939e2935d0661eb68449bfd64122efce6f6871
cantod version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.cantod/cosmovisor/upgrades/v7.0.0/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/cantod $HOME/.cantod/cosmovisor/upgrades/v7.0.0/bin

Check Version Again

# should be 7.0.0
$HOME/.cantod/cosmovisor/upgrades/v7.0.0/bin/cantod version
