CosmosHub v12.0.0 Upgrade

Liquid staking module is coming to the hub!

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 16985500. It is estimated to take place 1 year ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd cosmos
git pull
git checkout v12.0.0
make install

Check Version

# should be v12.0.0
gaiad version

# Should be commit 6f8067d76ce30996f83645862153ccfaf5f13dd1
gaiad version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v12/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/gaiad $HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v12/bin

Check Version Again

# should be v12.0.0
$HOME/.gaia/cosmovisor/upgrades/v12/bin/gaiad version
