Canto v6.0.0 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 5144100. It is estimated to take place 2 years ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd canto
git pull
git checkout v6.0.0
make install

Check Version

# should be 6.0.0
cantod version

# Should be commit c7c0964eec35c17b30c56516027f0ab42cc72d5f
cantod version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.cantod/cosmovisor/upgrades/v6.0.0/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/cantod $HOME/.cantod/cosmovisor/upgrades/v6.0.0/bin

Check Version Again

# should be 6.0.0
$HOME/.cantod/cosmovisor/upgrades/v6.0.0/bin/cantod version
