Kava v0.24.0 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 5597000. It is estimated to take place 1 year ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd kava
git pull
git checkout v0.24.0
make install

Check Version

# should be 0.24.0
kava version

# Should be commit 2eee058b78df7c95c57b9a61ddbf94c1a4bf61b2
kava version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.kava/cosmovisor/upgrades/v0.24.0/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/kava $HOME/.kava/cosmovisor/upgrades/v0.24.0/bin

Check Version Again

# should be 0.24.0
$HOME/.kava/cosmovisor/upgrades/v0.24.0/bin/kava version
