Kava v0.23.0 Upgrade

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 4832500. It is estimated to take place 2 years ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd kava
git pull
git checkout v0.23.0
make install

Check Version

# should be 0.23.0
kava version

# Should be commit 1fed82f3c5c054900c4a992ad3be47c63f332d96
kava version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.kava/cosmovisor/upgrades/v0.23.0/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/kava $HOME/.kava/cosmovisor/upgrades/v0.23.0/bin

Check Version Again

# should be 0.23.0
$HOME/.kava/cosmovisor/upgrades/v0.23.0/bin/kava version
