Stride v8.0.0 Upgrade

This upgrade enables airdrop for zones with different coin types.

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 3009003. It is estimated to take place 1 year ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd stride
git pull
git checkout v8.0.0
make install

Check Version

# should be v8.0.0
strided version

# Should be commit 3c69e7644859981b1fd9313eb1f0c5e5886e4a0d
strided version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.stride/cosmovisor/upgrades/v8/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/strided $HOME/.stride/cosmovisor/upgrades/v8/bin

Check Version Again

# should be v8.0.0
$HOME/.stride/cosmovisor/upgrades/v8/bin/strided version
