Akash v0.20.0 Upgrade

This upgrade will bump IBC to v3.4.0, disable and remove Cosmos Inter Chain Accounts (ICA) and fix handling of P2P environment variables.

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 8998907. It is estimated to take place 1 year ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd akash
git pull
git checkout v0.20.0
make install

Check Version

# should be v0.20.0
akash version

# Should be commit 9c376e978213fba72e1023b829d780f1f4ce64e5
akash version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.akash/cosmovisor/upgrades/v0.20.0/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/akash $HOME/.akash/cosmovisor/upgrades/v0.20.0/bin

Check Version Again

# should be v0.20.0
$HOME/.akash/cosmovisor/upgrades/v0.20.0/bin/akash version
