Akash v0.18.0 Upgrade

This upgrade enables support for IP Leases, starts initial phases of splitting provider services into microservices and has code changes to support Cosmos Inter Chain Accounts.

This guide assumes that you use cosmovisor to manage upgrades. If you do not use cosmovisor, please adjust some commands accordingly.

The upgrade is scheduled for Block 8526250. It is estimated to take place 1 year ago. A countdown clock is here. The governance proposal is here.

Install New Binary

cd akash
git pull
git checkout v0.18.0
make install

Check Version

# should be 0.18.0
akash version

# Should be commit 1324f29f656b6aba28e34af982c2ae8842fe863b
akash version --long | grep commit

Make Cosmovisor Directory and Copy Binary

mkdir -p $HOME/.akash/cosmovisor/upgrades/v0.18.0/bin
cp $HOME/go/bin/akash $HOME/.akash/cosmovisor/upgrades/v0.18.0/bin

Check Version Again

# should be 0.18.0
$HOME/.akash/cosmovisor/upgrades/v0.18.0/bin/akash version
